As per usual the celebs were out in glamorous form last night. I obviously have thoughts on what some of the women wore, but I don’t need to get into that here. What some of the men wore was bad enough, as expected. Although I applaud some of them for taking risks and trying something different much of the time the results were somewhere between awful and appalling. But maybe next year they’ll get it right… But I predict they will not and will yet again persist in tormenting my judgemental eyes. But anyway, we’ll get to that next year, let’s talk about this years best and worst dressed men of the night.
Who the hell is Asher Monroe? More importantly who the hell taught him to dress like a fool and put a quilted vest under a tux?Sofia Vergara’s tits pt. I.Tim Gunn killing it in Suitsupply. The first of our best dressed men of the night.Never heard of Derek Hough but I like the burgundy velvet. Everything else is crap. Isn’t it also poor form to copy the outfit of the host of the show?And speaking of the host, NPH, he wore pretty much the same outfit as Derek Hough, but better. The fit of the jacket and pants is quite good. Although I still can’t stand the long tie. If he switched that out for a proper black bow tie he would’ve been one of the best dressed men of the night.The only thing worth paying attention to here is the satin waistband of the pants. Which sometimes works as a substitute to a cummerbund.And this dude actually wore a cummerbund! Finally a celeb who got the memo.Damian Lewis. Killing it. One of the best dressed men of the night.I love Star Trek (both the TV shows and movies). And I love Zachary Quinto as Spock. What I don’t love is black dress shirts and long ties with a tux; but I have to admit, he does pull it off well.The always dapper Jimmy Fallon. Another of the best dressed men of the night.Judah Friedlander is taking the whole sprezzatura thing to new heights here. Also known as ‘I just don’t give a fuck.’This dude, Ty Burnell is absolutely destroying it in this charcoal double breasted. The fit, proportions and look is excellent for him. And the buttons look like they are gray mother of pearl! The fourth of the best dressed men of the night, and perhaps the outright best dressed man.Now here we have the gray tux done not so well. The long tie is, as we know, always a bad start. But then the jacket is too short and the pockets are flapped.I cannot wait for the day that the Thom Browne silhouette disappears from modern menswear. This Black Fleece jacket is just atrocious. Too short, buttoning point too high and lapels too thin. The fabric is interesting though.Evan Peters, yet another name I had to Google. Loving the two tone shoes, a subtle way to do a more creative take on black tie. The jacket and fit of said jacket is also pretty good.And then we have Jon Hamm’s white jacket rendition. And yes, it is a good one.Sofia Vergara’s tits pt. II.Tyrion can do whatever the hell he wants as far as I am concerned. But he did a good job of keeping things in proportion to his small frame.And the worst dressed of the night goes to Tracy Morgan. I won’t even waste my fingers on typing out why, you should be able to figure this one out…Will Ferrell: what else would you expect?Another man who can do whatever he likes as far as I’m concerned, Sir Elton John. Especially when he’s paying tribute to Liberace. But the ‘Sir’ says it all.

Wow. So much wrong with so many celeb ensembles. Do these guys actually pay stylists? Derek Hough was actually wearing a belt! I guess that they weren’t formal trousers. And the lack of a waist covering be it from a cummerbund or waistcoat is dispicable. Notched collars and pocket flaps? Did they rent from Men’s Warehouse? Yes, Jimmy Fallon & Tim Gunn were traditionally stylish but Michael Douglas was my vote for men’s best dressed.
