It's Half Time In America…

Ok, so I watched the Super Bowl, not all of it, but a good chunk of it.  Unfortunately, I missed this commercial.  So I must give credit to The Trad for tipping me off to it.  And mind you, Chrysler has been killing it with their commercial game lately.  It is nothing short of badass.  Perhaps Mr. Eastwood is correct in what he says, that this downtime it seems we are experiencing in America is only halftime.  From what I know of the American apparel (NOT that clothing company who’s styles I generally dislike, but the industry) manufacturing industry things are on the upswing there.  The same can be said for ‘Trad’ and ‘Prep’ styles, for better or for worse.

Before I came around my parents lived in Detroit, in fact my father lived there since he was young.  I often hear my parents and their friends from Detroit lament on the days of old, the good old days, the golden years of their beloved city.  The days in which the American auto industry and Motown carried the city are sadly no more.   In fact, it seems the auto industry propped up the entire Mid-West, with Detroit fell countless other cities.  But I guess that’s the way it goes.  It’s business, it’s not personal, right?  But for so many millions it was personal.  No, it was more than personal, it was their lives.  For their sake, for our sake, I hope Mr. Eastwood is right.

America, Fuck Yeah,

Justin
