This seasons (well, actually its for FW/2015) Project NYC show had a good showing. Admittedly, much of what is shown at the show is not my style, but I still really enjoy attending the show and seeing what some brands are churning out these days. So as I perused the aisles of the show I picked out a few items that caught my attention.
I had never heard of David Hart NYC before, as was the case with many of the brands at Project. What drew me to the booth was the tweed herringbone coat with wool collar you see below.
The Knottery is a brand whose progress I have been following pretty closely over the past few years. Jay, the guy behind it, is a pretty cool dude (and as I now know, a dad of 4, respect to him for that). The brand has some great ties, pocket squares and other accessories at great prices. I also think it was the only brand at the show that had bow ties and certainly the only one with proper suspenders.
Ben Minkoff is the masculine side of the Rebecca Minkoff brand. I’ve been receiving press releases and party invites from them for the past few months, but unfortunately, I have not been able to make any of the events so it was nice to finally see some of the collection in person. I was quite impressed and could definitely see myself using many of the bags in the collection.
In the past the only reason I remembered Shipley & Halmos was because half of its name is that of my prep school’s. But some of the stuff they had on show at Project was totally badass, namely the cigar colored shearling jacket; which I need to add to my wardrobe asap.
