Brands To Watch: Cravatta Pelliano

Cravatta Pelliano, ever heard of the brand?  If not, I’m not surprised.  The company is new, only a few months old.  But I suspect it will be around for some time.  The company specializes in ties, damn well designed ones.  They are designed in the Netherlands and produced in Italy.  Weird combination, right?  Anyway, the quality is top shelf, but for the price, it should be (the tie pictured was roughly $185).  I purchased the pictured tie a few weeks back.  It is one of the most badass ties I have ever seen.  There was never a question of whether or not I was going to buy the tie, it was just ‘yes.’  Sadly, I have not had the opportunity to wear it yet.  But in due time…

Upon opening the package I saw two things.  The white box with a black bow and a letter with a wax stamp of the Cravatta Pelliano zebra.  I thought of the box ‘okay, that’s nice of them but I want to see my tie already.’  I thought of the letter and stamping ‘This is amazing.  I need to get my own stamp asap.’  And did I mention the letter was hand written.  The crucial details, game changers.

Even with the perfection in its presentation the tie is lacking one thing, width.  The tie is only 2 1/4 inches wide, too narrow for my tastes.  I contemplated returning the tie based solely on this fact but I just couldn’t stand to part ways with it.  For knit and square end ties like this one I think the width should be at least 2 1/2 inches.  I cannot speak for their other ties, but I would imagine the dimensions are the same or close.  I would also imagine that  he quality is also the same, that being very good.  As for the styling, well, see for yourself, these guys have a good thing going.
