Just in time for the end of the winter season my double breasted windowpane flannel suit arrived from MyTailor last Monday. I have been fantasizing about the suit since I first saw the fabric last summer. And it is everything I thought it would be. It had to be a double breasted; the lines are so much better. The double front pleated with a high English back trousers and the double breasted paisley lined jacket. Near perfection. But enough with my fetishizing.
The suit is excellent in weather below 50, whether sunny or overcast. It is heavy enough to be worn without a jacket, as I wore on this day, down to about 30. Paired here with brown suede shoes from Septieme Largeur, white dress shirt from MyTailor and green grenadine necktie from Chipp2. And yes, a white cotton pocket square and rosette. Perhaps not the best suit for more traditional business affairs is great for those that allow the wearer a little more expression. Or, as was the case on this day, for a dinner event. It was a good day.
